Independence & your own domain

Passeport Batterie lets your Company configure a domain name it already owns, so the QR codes printed on your batteries can run on infrastructure you control — not locked to ours.

Why we offer this

A battery passport's QR code is meant to stay readable for years, including a battery's full lifecycle. We don't want switching providers, or stopping your subscription, to mean replacing QR codes already printed on batteries in the field. Pointing your own domain at your passports keeps that decision in your hands, not ours.

How it works

From your Company settings, you register a domain name you own (for example labels.yourcompany.com) and add a single DNS CNAME record, to the value we provide, at your domain registrar. We verify that record automatically and mark the domain as verified once it resolves correctly. Only Company owners and admins can configure or change it.

If you ever end your subscription

Because the domain belongs to you and you control its DNS, you keep the ability to decide what happens to it — including redirecting it yourself — independently of your relationship with Passeport Batterie. That is the whole point: your printed labels are not held hostage by a single vendor.

Available today

Registering a domain you own and verifying it by DNS CNAME is available now, in your Company settings. Actually serving your battery passport pages under that verified domain is the next step we're completing — it is not yet live in production, so printed QR codes do not use your custom domain today. We'll let Company owners know as that rolls out.
